A Rabbit's Life

Today we had our first funeral service at our home, celebrating life of Rabbit.

It has been a week Mei mei weeping on the loss of Rabbit. Interestingly, the last time we had photo with Rabbit was about 3 years ago at Cottlesloe Beach. We spent hours looking for Rabbit at the crowded beach with no avail. Mei mei was 3.5years old at that time and she witnessed the whole searching process. It seemed to be fine with Mei mei, she knew her best friend Rabbit is gone, and didn’t shed a tear. We went home and Mei mei spent the first night without Rabbit for the first time.

Fast forward 1 week ago, Mei mei started remembering about her Rabbit. She kept crying in the evening and unable to sleep on her own. We tried to replace Rabbit with a new bunny, however tonight Mei mei cried again!

Daddy had this brilliant idea. "Let's have a funeral service celebrating Rabbit’s life!” Mei mei stopped crying and listened attentively. BIM chipped in with her creativity, she made invitation letter, wrote the service script for Daddy (who is the Pastor for the service), and BIM played worship songs for the service. We shared our favourite moments with Rabbit, Mei mei recalled the last day she had with Rabbit at Cottlesloe Beach. We would never see Rabbit again but she will always be in our hearts.

Mummy is writing this story after the two girls went to bed. It will be a good night rest tonight. Goodbye Rabbit (31 December 2015 – 17 March 2019)
