Australia Day 2014

Today is Australia Day. Celebrated annually on 26 January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships at Sydney Cove, New South Wales. We decided to head up to Perth for fireworks at the foreshore.

Can you spot the GIANT floating Aussie flag?

A well-spent sleep brings happy days

To re-quote Leonardo da Vinci - A well-spent sleep brings happy days... Hence begin BIM's arduous sleep training journey for the past one week.

Sorrento Beach Shack - Hillarys Boat Harbour

I was contemplating whether to post this since this is technically not Mandurah but hey it's close and besides, it's like a bigger sister version of Mandurah. So introducing the Hillarys Boat Harbour, or Sorrento Quay. It's kind of confusing as it's sandwiched between Hillarys and Sorrento.

And guess what I am looking at?

Jump Kids!

Jump Kids!
Today is Sunday! We are going to church to worship God! I love to dance and sing during worship session.

After that mummy brings me to Jump Kids. There are lots of friends and activities to do. I love to play with the blocks and listen to stories.

The Big Draw

This evening we went to the foreshore for picnic. And I had corn for picnic. Yum! But we had an unexpected guest who landed straight in front of us... Mummy & I were in a bit of a shock...

Joey BIM

I love to be in the sling pouch while mummy carries me whenever we go. Recently a few strangers asked mummy about the sling pouch as they would like to buy one too. The sling pouch is special as it is not for sale as mummy sew it herself.  Since people are interested on this sling pouch, mummy would like to show you how to make the reversible sling pouch. It's quite simple (only takes about an hour).

Idyllic Saturday

It's Saturday and what better thing to do than to eat my favourite nectarine fruit on this idyllic day. And mummy's favourite music box playing on the background on this idyllic day... What a beautiful day that God has made indeed! Let us rejoice and be glad in it...

Orange tortoise cake

Mummy is making "ang ku kueh" (which literally means "red tortoise cake" in english) for BIM's birthday. It is a chinese pastry made with glutinous rice flour with sweet filling. Grandma taught mummy how to make these "orange" tortoise cake by adding sweet potato mash. As Mummy couldn't find banana leaves here, she substitutes it with baking paper. It's very yummy!

To the beach & sunset

Me & Daddy
Today we have decided to go on a bike ride again. As what would know from my previous posts, I'm still not a great fan of bike helmet yet. However, I think I'm getting used to it now. Mummy says that we should go to the beach today so off we go!

splish splash! splish splash!

Shaking my fins!

Have I told you about my activity on Thursday? During school term Mummy and I go for Aqua playgroup, where my friends and I have tonnes of fun in the water. We sing songs while splashing the water, crawl through a tunnel (I don't like that yet), and play with toys. I can even swim with a giant octopus!
