I love to be in the sling pouch while mummy carries me whenever we go. Recently a few strangers asked mummy about the sling pouch as they would like to buy one too. The sling pouch is special as it is not for sale as mummy sew it herself.  Since people are interested on this sling pouch, mummy would like to show you how to make the reversible sling pouch. It's quite simple (only takes about an hour).

Step 1:

Use a tape and measure yourself from shoulder to the opposite hip. Double that measurement and add another 6 inches (extra room for baby). For example: 20" x 2 + 6" = 46".

The width of the fabric is around 20" to 21"

Step 2:
Choose two matching fabrics. We went to Spotlight and found these fabrics (100% cotton).

Step 3:
Lay the fabrics right sides together and stitch the long side together (make sure to width of both fabrics are the same before stitching).

Step 4: 

Fold the fabric in half widthwise, then in half again lengthwise. Draw and cut a curve at the unfinished edges. The widest part of the curve is 3 inches, and the curve straightens up as it reaches the unfinished edge. 

Step 5:
Turn the fabric inside out so now the right side is facing outward. Iron down the seam.

Step 6:
Put the open curved sides together and sew through all layers at about 1/4" from the edge. You may trim the edge after that if needed.

Step 7:
Flip over so the inner (red patterned) fabric is on the outside and sew the curved side again, about 1/2" from the first seam. The raw edges is thus enclosed and it is called a french seam. Finally stitch the flap created by the french seam.
